The PillGrade system is a 3D fabric scanning system that uses patent pending technology to objectively and repeatedly grade fabric swatches for surface properties. The system outputs pilling and fuzziness data, in addition to the 1.0-5.0 pilling grade according to both ASTM and ISO standards. PillGrade's unique approach to vision inspection enables the system to scan and grade fabrics of any weight, color and pattern.
Advantages: Ensures objective, repeatable grades Ensures agreement throughout textile supply chain Easy and fast (~5 seconds) to operate Correlates to ASTM & ISO grade scale Compiles production/supplier pill data Measures and grades fuzziness PillGrade also grades snags
Fabric Types & Sizes: Any woven, nonwoven, knit, fleece, automotive, any blend or material. Fabric patterns and colors are "invisible" to PillGrade. Specimen size range is 4" x 4" (10cm x 10cm) to 6" x 6" (150mm x 150mm).
Output: Printout (with area for attaching specimen) Excel data file (.csv format) PDF for e-mailing (with Acrobat installation)
Data: Quantity of pills Histogram of pill sizes Average pill size Pill density (pills/in2 and pills/cm2) Fuzz loft Multiple specimen averaging test 1.0-5.0 pilling grade
PillGrade includes: Enclosure with rubber feet Motorized feed system Industrial CCD camera with optics LED back light module LED top light module Control electronics Control panel PillGrade software
