F102B SDL/Denkendorf Microdust and Trash Analyser with Rotoring - To determine the lint, dust, trash and other non-fiber content of short and medium staple natural and synthetic fiber samples. Processes up to 10 grams of fiber with extreme accuracy using the included Electronic Balance Software and Computer System. Provides 1 meter of sliver for further testing, blending or processing into yarn.
ORIGINAL PURPOSE To provide reliable dust and trash content data from small (5-10 Gram) fiber samples. When equipped with the SDL MDTA and the included SDL Analysis Software, Electronic Balance and Computer, users can optimize raw material purchases and cleaning machinery setting for best yarn quality to cost ratios.
Measures: Cleanability, Opening Behavior, Fiber Cohesion and Processing Behavior.
COTTON STICKINESS MEASUREMENT The SDL MDTA opens and cleans cotton in a fashion similar to production-type opening and carding systems after processing. The fibers are pressed against the rotor wall by centrifugal force. By counting the points where fibers stick to the rotor wall, then removing fibers and weighing them, a measurement of stickiness can be produced which correlates well with other methods.
FIBER BLENDING Many textile products specify yarns blended from different types or colors of raw materials to produce a Melange, Heather, Denim or similar effect. Producing sample blends of fiber using conventional opening and carding lines is a long, tedious and inaccurate process. The SDL MDTA can produce 5-10 grams of intimately blended fibers from preweighed samples in less than 5 minutes. Samples are produced in the form of sliver in a length of 1 meter suitable for visual or instrumental color assessment or further processing into yarn which can then be knitted into fabric.
ELECTRICAL 220-240V, 50 or 60 HZ, 1 phase, 20 amp start-up.
AIR REQUIREMENT Dry, oil-free instrument-quality compressed air, 3/8" line size, minimum 5-bar pressure.
VERSION 3 Short/medium staple for natural or synthetic fibers or blends, Rorotring included.
