Intertek Completes Purchase Of SDL Atlas DigiEye Colourfastness and Colour Measurement System
STOCKPORT, ENGLAND -- Intertek Labtest, an Indonesia-based fabric testing specialist, has purchased the new DigiEye non-contact digital imaging system for grading colourfastness in samples. SDL Atlas, the worldwide distributor for DigiEye, provided training in the UK.
DigiEye, the world's first reliable digital grading system, provides automated colour evaluation. The system uses optical imaging, so no contact is required. DigiEye technology is the ideal method for testing small and irregularly shaped samples, including curved and heavily textured items. The system easily accommodates a wide variety of materials ranging from carpets and printed fabrics to lingerie and velours.
"Intertek is a leading force in textile testing throughout Indonesia and the world. Their investment in DigiEye grading technology demonstrates Intertek's ongoing commitment to utilizing the most advanced testing tools available in the market today," said Chris Lawler, SDL Atlas Sales Manager.
Traditionally, colour grading has required a human operator and use of a spectrophotometer. The spectrophotometer often lacks accuracy when assessing appearance differences between pile fabrics such as velvet and plain-wovens such as twill. The DigiEye unit provides colour evaluations down to a single pixel level automatically -- even for multicoloured and patterned samples.
SDL Atlas is the world's leading supplier of textile testing equipment and solutions, providing instrumentation, installation, calibration, training, support and service through a network of distributors, agents and service centers in over 90 countries. The company reflects the combined resources of SDL International, Atlas Textile Test Products, Raitech and Textile Innovators. Wherever people test textiles, you'll find SDL Atlas.
